Our day starts in Tel Aviv with an historical and geographical overview of the land of Israel. We will start our journey north alongside the ancient Via Maris passing the Carmel mountains where Elijah challenges the prophets of Baal.
We will see from afar the battlefields of Salah A Din and the Crusader King Guy of Lusignan at the Horns of Hittin. We will ascend the Golan and continue to the reconstructed 2nd century village of Katzrin. We will zoom ahead in history as we drive up the extinct volcanic cinder cone of Bental and hear the recounting of the battle of the Valley of Tears in 1973 and see modern Syria laid out before us.
From here we will cross the Hula Valley and visit the quaint village and artist colony of Rosh Pina and continue up to Safed (Tzfat), the center of JewishMysticism – the Kabala.
In Safed we will visit the numerous art galleries specializing in Kabbalistic art, learn from local artists the hidden meaning of their art, visit 300 year old synagogues of the great Yossef Caro or Issac Lurie – the Ari. From Safed we will visit a local boutique winery and after our wine tasting we will journey back to Tel aviv.
